Our History

Amici Cantatates - means roughly translated "Singing friends"

Rochester evensong-in rehearsal

In rehearsal for Evensong - the formal group photo's are accessible via the links below.

Around 100 friends in the shape of a number of choirs connected by John and his musicianship, assembled at Rochester Cathedral to fill the space with Evensong to settings by Charles Villiers Stanford and William Byrd and Tomás de Victoria. The photographs are now online, and as they are of this shared event you can see them without a password. You can order prints from the links below as well. Thanks to Nick Charles for taking and sharing them.

Group photographs of Amici Cantates 2015

Photographs of rehearsals and the Cathedral and surrounds, and the same group shots as above.

As a guide to buying them as glossy prints from Photobox - a single print will have the same postage price as 5 or 10 so you may wish to club together in a single order as choirs. The cost is very reasonable - 5 off 9" x 6" prints including postage to one address, costs just £5.09. You will need to register as a customer to order them.

Please note that Beckenham Junior Choir don't profit from this at all - we just facilitate the links to them!

This from John:

"Well done to Beckenham Youth Voices Saturday 24th at Rochester Cathedral. You sang really, really well and I was deeply proud of you. You all looked very smart, too and were a credit to the Choir and your families.

The singing was of a high standard and I am looking forward to hearing the recording and seeing the photos."
